This project is a visual investigation on the image of work culture told through Nordic Art. In the period known as the Modern Breakthrough (1870-1900) there was a counter reaction to the previously romanticized idea of living on a farm (when in fact most farmers worked themselves to death as tenant farmers). The zeitgeist of Denmark in this period was revolutionary and the political movements paved the way towards the social welfare system and co-op architecture that persists today. The faces of the workers are paired with outtakes from online job listings in the creative industry and motivational quotes from design forums. Both the animation and the voice over is generated by AI.
